Oh, I gotta girl with a record machine
When it comes to rocking, she’s a queen
We love to dance on a Saturday night
All alone where I can hold her tight
But she lives on the 20th floor town
The elevator’s broken down
So I go up 1, 2 flight, 3 flight 4
5, 6, 7 flight, 8 flight more
Up on the 12th, I’m a’starting to drag
15th floor, well I’m ready to sag
I get to the top – I’m too tired to rock!

Call me up on the telephone
She said “Come over baby – I’m all alone”
I said “Baby –you’re might sweet,
But I’m in bed with my aching feet”
Now this went on for a couple of days
But, but I just couldn’t stay away
So I go up 1, 2 flight, 3 flight 4
5, 6, 7 flight, 8 flight more
Up on the 12th, I’m a’starting to drag
15th floor, well I’m ready to sag
I get to the top – I’m too tired to rock!

Oh I just couldn’t make it any more!

You know, they sent to Chicago for repairs
Till lift is fixed, we’ll have to use the stairs
I hope they hurry before it’s too late
I love my baby too much to wait
All this climbing, it’s getting me down
You’ll find my coat (corpse?) draped over a rail
So I go up 1, 2 flight, 3 flight 4
5, 6, 7 flight, 8 flight more
Up on the 12th, I’m a’starting to drag
15th floor, well I’m ready to sag
I get to the top – I’m too tired to rock!
When I get to the top – I’m too tired to rock
When I get to the top – I’m too tired to rock
Rock On!
